Michael Keane has joked that he is ahead of striker brother Will Keane in terms of goals in the league.

Keane grabbed his first ever goal for Burnley during their 2-2 draw against Birmingham City in the Championship over the weekend and the strike was certainly a special moment for the former Manchester United defender.

Michael's brother Will, who is currently on loan at Preston North End from United, also managed a goal in the midweek Capital One Cup but the defender has joked that he is currently one up over his striker brother in terms of league goals.

Keane said: "I think I am one up at the moment — in the League. I hope he does well although when we come up against each other hopefully I can keep him quiet. When I get the chance I will go and see him play and he will be watching me. I hope he does really well.

"He is a great player. He is back from his injury and back to his best and I think he will score a few goals for Preston."
